This painting was created for a juried show at the Art League, New York.
The sketch for this painting was made quickly after a dreamy evening picnic on the beach.
As the sun set, beautiful colours filled the sky.
I wanted to capture the expanse of that sky and resonant light in this painting.
This piece is representative of my practice, in that I played around with several trial pieces, and then zoomed in on my favourite part of the sunset, and abstracted that from my original paintings.
