Summer Sun

This still life was done as a class project emphasizing a limited color scheme. A light, a medium and a dark value for each color represented by the still life study in the confines of the class time. I have never done flowers or used a limited pallet. The Sun Flower for me represents the hot summer sun and the fun of all that summer time brings. I was surprised that I did this at all and that it came out looking like something. My teacher was Gary Rupp and he was very encouraging and shared a treasure of information for painters new or established. I am grateful for his encouragement.
