On a storm watching trip along the Washington coast, I was captivated by this surfer standing on the shoreline, waiting for just the right moment to enter the tumultuous surf. He trusted that the moment would eventually arrive and that he could ride the waves, despite the swirling storm all around him. I found it such a reminder that for luck to happen, it helps if we are ready for it. Soft pastel on Lenox 100 paper.
