Kennie's Tennies

This painting is on UART Premium Paper. The inspiration came from all the grandkids wearing the same kind of tennis shoe. I took several reference photos and came up with the final composition. I began with a grid and a prospek, blocking in shapes with hard pastels, then I started laying in the dark's and lights to help define the shapes. I continued adding color and layering pastel to further define the shapes until the final piece was finished with highlights.
