Red Bliss

On a cold and dreary day in the studio I had a marvelous idea. I got my favorite materials and started to immediately paint exactly what I could see in mind. The flowers that I could see were vivid, busy, exciting, happy and full of life. I painted most of them on the paper, knew I should wait for another day, and over the next week returned to look carefully and critically at my work. Finally, with a few more strokes of the pastel, I was satisfied once I added the blue bits to some of the flowers.
