I often find inspiration for my work when outdoors, my favorite place to be. I took photos of this natural rock out-cropping when hiking in the George Washington National Forest a few years back. Made this pastel from the reference photos in my studio last summer. Love the abstract possibilities in rocks and other phenomenon found in nature.
