Steps to Simiane

This painting was painted 'en plein air' in the beautiful quaint village of Simiane La Rotonde, France. We stayed in a Bed and Breakfast for a fortnight in Simiane while we painted in and around. These were the steps that led us up to the B & B daily as we lugged our gear in and out. At that altitude and with my 'thousands' of pastels and my painting gear on the back it was an almost 'strenuous' hike unto our rooms at the top of the B & B at the end of the day :) And so I wanted to paint them and bring them back as memory...
