I've painted variations of this scene from a park near my home dozens of times. I've painted it in every season and every weather condition. I've painted it at dawn, midday and dusk. I've painted it from down river and up river. I find it endlessly interesting, and I'm happy to have found a "muse" in nature that's close to home and doesn't require traveling, especially during this time of Covid. With this one, I let myself veer away from all the previous conditions under which I've painted this scene, and knowing it so well, let my expressive juices flow. Having been quarantined for months, I've found that my work has become a little looser and a little wilder. My body may be isolated, but my mind can run free! Painted on Uart400 mounted on foam core with a variety of soft and medium pastels.
