Quarry Rock, a park in Cleveland, Ohio, is my favorite local place to paint outdoors and happens to be around the corner from my house. I've painted it more times that I can count and it's been a never-ending source of creativity and pleasure for me. I took my dog there one morning last summer as the sun was coming up, and the way it was filtering through the trees and making the river sparkle was breathtaking. My dog and I decided to sit down and meditate. Later that day, this painting was created out of that beautiful solitude through the use of reference photos , drawings and my senses having just been there. Painted on Uart 400 mounted (by myself with 3M mounting paper) on foam core. A variety of soft and medium pastels were used.
