A Glimpse! Gone.

One by one my rescue dog brought me kits from a litter of rabbits. Each one he let me take out of his mouth. The third was a struggle and the bunny had a large quarter tear on its head. I went to the barn for antibiotic ointment and adhered it with a piece of duct tape. Many months later, a much larger rabbit froze in my headlights in my drive. As it hopped away the silver duct tape was clearly visible. The image of the kits that night, backlit by the setting sun and the marvelous out come have always called me to try and capture that ethereal image.
