This soft pastel was completely shortly after visiting South Africa for a safari trip I took with my sister. Various elephants (older and baby elephants) were seen on this trip. The elephant is based upon a photo I took from my trip as it's hard to do a piece on site (the roads are too bumpy and not very comfortable to paint while in the safari jeep).
