This soft pastel piece was inspired from a recent trip to South Africa for a 5-day safari. I was able to take a small collection of pastels and paper with me on the trip. The colors used in this pastel were the same ones I used to create small studies. This watering hole was a great spot to watch elephants walk up to the water to get something to drink and to get some shade.
