The Wandering Souls of Shells Departed

This pastel was executed with Unisons on dark gray prepared pastel board and is from a longterm series I call the Floaters. Entitled "The Wandering Souls of Shells Departed," this recent piece will stand as an homage to a time when we were called upon to contemplate a completely changed world. By rendering the shells in monochrome in an otherwise colorful environment, I mean to invoke the unexpectedly altered state of all that we have come to know about beauty, and therefore, truth.
