Kool Kat

After painting Kopy Kat , I was inspired to do another version featuring our other cat. Luckily he cooperated by taking a nap on a sunlit rug in our entryway. I snapped a quick picture with my phone. Like Kopy Kat , I purposefully limited values and color ( and detail) to convey in the most striking manner the pattern of light and shadow I saw. This is again done on Colourfix black board and is basically a 4 value painting using a warm white, cool gray and black pastel along with the charcoal color of the paper itself.
