Kopy Kat

One sunny morning I glanced over to see our cat bathed in sunlight and was struck by the pattern of light and shadow. I quickly snapped a photo and was inspired to paint the image. I wanted to give the viewer the image of what I saw and purposefully limited both the colors and values to achieve this. This is essentially a 4 value painting- warm white, cool gray, black and then the charcoal color of the Colourfix dark paper.
