The medium is soft pastel on Dakota Medium 400 grit paper. I had the pears on my counter and was taken by the different shades of green, composition and the shadows they casts on the counter. I sketched out a value study. Did a underpainting pastel wash of the opposite color (red & pink) before I started layering the pastels for this study.
