This painting had been brewing for about a year. It started when I was leading my horse and thinking about the poor condition of his rope. And I had one of those 'what if?' moments.
I like sanded paper but was getting low on it. I had one sheet of charcoal colored LaCarte. It was perfect for this project and easy to work with. I put 'other' below because I used a variety of hard pastels and some pastel pencils.
