The inspiration for this painting comes from a visit to a small fishing lake in far eastern Oklahoma. After a rainy morning, the sun had emerged in full brilliance, hitting these tall trees along the lake. I wanted to capture the brilliance of the light and the freshness of the air in spring after a gentle rain.
