Like all of us, I had been feeling upset about COVID-19. There was so much bad news and fear. I felt compelled to find positive news. Doing the research for the words in the painting was very therapeutic. I asked family and friends on FB to contribute their thoughts. I first did a watercolor and acrylic underpainting. Then I covered most of it with a variety of soft pastels. The words on top were always part of my plan and I took step by step photos of my process.
